Martin Truex Jr. wins stage two after a thrilling finish to stage 1. Kevin Harvick rises three spots to seventh. JGR takes their fourth win of season, behind Christopher Bell. Chase Elliott is currently leading the points. It's all happening down in New Hampshire.

Martin Truex Jr. sweeps first stage

Martin Truex Jr. won New Hampshire's first stage, taking the pole. After a rain delay for about an hour, Ambetter 301 starts on the 1.058 mile oval. Truex leads from the start, but Bubba Wallace comes out of nowhere to take second. Kyle Larson is third and Kyle Elliott fourth. Kevin Harvick is now seventh, behind Aric almirola. Harvick also has a stellar history at New Hampshire.

Martin Truex has had a tough season, but the Ambetter 301 was a great race. He earned his first pole and led more laps than any other driver. He also won stages two and three, placing him in an excellent position to reach the playoffs.

Kevin Harvick climbs up three spots to No. 7

Kevin Harvick, who finished sixth at last year’s event, moves up three places to be seventh in New Hampshire NASCAR results. The four-time winner is only 19 points from the Playoffs. He has a strong track record in New Hampshire. In the last six races, Harvick has finished in the top 12 five times. His position differential is +35, making him a strong bet to get a good finish at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Loudon, New Hampshire is where the NASCAR Cup Series arrives. Martin Truex Jr. takes the lead row. Chase Elliott and he work in close proximity to each other to begin the race. They come in contact at the first turn. But Elliott is able avoid the collision and maintain the lead. Erik Jones makes contact with Justin Haley and spins across the track. Alex Bowlicki contacts Elliott and then spins across the track. Elliott is still in front heading into stage 2.

Bad weather delayed the race by nearly two hours. Elliott held the lead for the 37 remaining laps, even after a restart. After stopping to get fuel and tires, Elliott was in third. Later in the stage, he pitted for two tires under caution and went back out in eighth place. Later, he climbed to ten positions including the lead.
