The NASCAR circuit has a wide variety of tracks. Some tracks can be as short as 1 mi while others can go as far as 2 miles. This includes the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as well as Daytona International Speedway. While most tracks today are asphalt, they were constructed on dirt at the beginning. We've compiled a list of longest NASCAR tracks to help you decide which track is best for you.

Daytona International Speedway

The Daytona 500 race is the most important in the NASCAR cup series. This race kicks off the season and is held every February. The 20th of February will see the race in 2022. Daytona 500 is held at 2 tracks. The Speedway at Daytona track is the longest. The track features 7 garages and 82 team stalls. It can host 164 racecars and thousands of spectators.

Daytona International Speedway spans almost a mile. In fact, the track was built by engineers who took the curvature in Earth into consideration. The Daytona International Speedway has approximately 17 elevators, 40 escalators, and is one of the longest NASCAR tracks. Daytona is also home to country music festivals and motorcycle shows. During Bike Week, visitors can participate in a demo ride or a supercross event. Free access to the track's midway is offered during the week.

Talladega Superspeedway

Talladega Superspeedway can be found in Alabama and is the second-longest NASCAR circuit after Daytona International Speedway. Anniston Air Force Base used to be the location of the track. The Air Force had already evacuated this site ten-years earlier. Talladega bought the land. Ground breaking took place on May 23, 1968.

Built in 1967, Talladega Superspeedway is one the longest NASCAR tracks. It was built in 1967 to host two Cup Series race each year. The track was recently included into the playoff format. The track has been host to eight Cup Series races since its completion, including the 500. Despite its length, Talladega is still one of the most challenging tracks. Talladega is also home to the largest NASCAR driver gathering.

Darlington Raceway

Known as the "Spirit of Southern Car Racing," Darlington Raceway is one of the longer tracks in NASCAR. The track hosts two races each year, the Southern 500 and the Goodyear 500. This race is known as the Official Throwback Weekend by NASCAR. Cars are painted with retro paint schemes. The track also hosts the USAC Silver Crown Showdown at Darlington.

Darlington Raceway’s uniqueness is its shape. Its distinctive egg shape makes it difficult and frustrating for drivers and crew to navigate. The track was originally built around a minnow lake, but it was not destroyed during construction. This gave the track its distinctive egg-shaped design. The track was known as the "Spirit of Southern Car Racing" during the 1950s.

Michigan International Speedway

The track is located in downtown Detroit, Michigan. The NASCAR's longest road course has many sharp corners and straightaways. The average corner entry speed is 190 mph. The track does not require restrictor plate, which is an advantage for drivers. The track is well-known for its wide turns. During qualifying, drivers frequently exceed 200 mph while reaching speeds of over 220 miles per hour.

Built in 1968, the Michigan International Speedway is the longest track in NASCAR. It was originally known as the Auto Club Speedway. However, it became one of the longest NASCAR tracks. Charles Moneypenny, the man who designed Daytona International Speedway's track, was responsible for designing it. The track features 18-degree banking in its turns and a straight curve at it's frontstretch. The track is also one of the fastest oval tracks in the United States.
