Stage Two of the Xfinity Race Today

Today's Stage 1 of the Xfinity race has ended and we are ready for Stage 2. Here's a quick recap of the first stage. Will Power, Devlin DeFrancesco, and Alexander Rossi are on the lead lap. Christian Lundgaard is just over 3 seconds behind.

Stage 2 of xfinity races

The Xfinity Series finished Stage two with Daniel Hemric winning the event. The race was green and white but on the final lap a yellow flag was raised for caution. The top five drivers were involved in a wreck at the end of the lap and the top four cars all fell out. Ross Chastain and Cindric Marks were also involved. Bell was also fined for speeding on pit roads during his pit stop. Although it knocked Bell out of contention to win, he finished eighth.

Gibbs leads the race heading into the stage. Trevor Bayne (AJ Allmendinger) is following him. Ryan Preece as well Kyle Custer made Allgaier pass at the restart. AJ Allmendinger also passed Allgaier. However, he had to pit below the yellow flag.

Allmendinger led seven laps in the race before the caution was issued. Allgaier has a 19 point lead. David Gragson led 39 laps. He eventually passed Allmendinger on the final turn to take the lead. Allmendinger later expressed his dissatisfaction with his team by saying that the cars were one lap behind him and that he was not happy.


The Xfinity Series will perform on Watkins Glen in New York this afternoon. Sunoco Go Rewards 200 will take place at the track. The race will run on a road course for 82 laps. Byron and Gibbs are on the front row. Justin Allgaier & Kyle Larson are on the back row.

Stage one for the xfinity races

Several times, the lead in today's Xfinity race changes hands during the first stage. Justin Allgaier leads the race, with a six-second advantage over AJ Allmendinger. Allgaier is eventually passed by Trevor Bayne and Riley Herbst later in the stage. Later, Allmendinger passes Allgaier to the leader and grabs the lead with just two laps to go.

The leaders begin to move after a caution flag for a safety vehicle is waved. Will Power is holding the lead, with Colton Herta only a few second behind. Alexander Rossi, Christian Lundgaard, and Pato o'Ward are just behind them. Kyle Kirkwood is fourth. Trying to make it into the top five, he is pulled over and sent back towards the rear.

William Byron starts from the lead in lap 52 and finishes sixth. Gibbs runs alongside Allmendinger in the next stage and clears him at turn 2. Later, Byron takes 2nd place alongside Larson. Hemric collides with the tire barrier at turn 5. Gibbs finishes 27th.

The Xfinity race was originally scheduled to start at 7:45 p.m. ET, but was canceled due to lightning storms and rain. The race will be delayed by NASCAR for how long it is unknown. The race usually lasts about two hours.
