In the second, the winner car completes the circuit faster than the minimum lap. The ambiguity of classifications has been a source of many dramatic incidents in the past. Due to homologation rules, the new car was required to be road legal. Porsche had the car de-specced to comply with regulations. It was still a remarkable achievement.
